Long before Black Horse Manor became an all-inclusive wedding venue, this spot lived quite a few lives. Constructed in the 1850s, the main house was originally used as a hospital during the Civil War, and then the Fauquier Courthouse soon after. Today, the house is managed by Becca Beasley, a native Virginian ready to bring you a slice of history in the midst of your legendary celebration!

When I got to work with Gabrielle and Colin, Black Horse Manor proved to be their perfect wedding venue! The pair wanted classic charm throughout their day, and it all started inside the manor. Gabrielle looked like a vintage starlet with an elegant princess gown, matching gloves, pearls, and soft curls. The black walls of the dressing room combined with the crown molding gave us the best backdrop for candid pics! After she was dressed, we snapped a few portraits of her in front of the natural light from the floor-to-ceiling windows.

The ceremony took place outside on the terrace with views of the surrounding fields, setting the scene. The stairs leading down to the ceremony site were ideal for a grand entrance! Once the ceremony was over, the guests headed back to the house for an outdoor cocktail hour. Because this area is shaded by trees, the late summer heat was perfectly tolerable!

Finally, the evening ended in the Grand Ballroom. This is a recent addition to the manor and offers traditional Southern charm while giving you all the modern conveniences you could possibly need. Gabrielle and Colin chose to go with bright and summery colors, and the decorations looked right at home amidst the white walls and brass accents.

Throughout their wedding day, I had so much fun exploring Black Horse Manor with Colin and Gabrielle. There were a few spots that really seemed to shine throughout their pictures. I loved using the interior staircase to show off Gabrielle’s gown. Meanwhile, the covered front porch was the perfect spot for pics with Colin and his groomsmen. We also used the front of the house for pictures of the couple, as well as the family!

Black Horse Manor is an all-inclusive venue ready to hold up to 350 guests. They offer you separate get-ready spaces for both parties, and they give you the ability to rent out the inn throughout your wedding weekend. You will have catering provided by their exclusive in-house team, who can cover a wide range of global cuisine. This venue knows how to make it easy to plan every aspect of your wedding!
