In early May, I had the opportunity to tour Ravenswood Mansion as a Nashville-based wedding photographer and fell in love with the space. Here’s everything I learned, including pricing, what’s included, and what to keep in mind if you’re considering booking the Mansion for your wedding day.
About Ravenswood Mansion
Just 25 minutes outside of downtown Nashville, Ravenswood is a historic gem on 400 acres of rolling Tennessee countryside. If you’ve been dreaming of a wedding with lots of space, lush greenery, and antique charm, this might just be your venue.

Pricing
Ravenswood offers a range of pricing based on the season and day of the week, making it a flexible option whether you’re planning a weekend celebration or something more intimate during the week.

What’s Included in the Rental
- 400 acres of property (lots of flexibility on ceremony spots, plenty of photo locations, and more than enough space to move around)
- Exclusive use of the mansion and surrounding grounds
- Three getting ready suites
- Prep kitchen for caterers
- On-site venue representative (note: not a planner)
- Free (and plentiful) on-site parking
Requirements to Keep in Mind
Ravenswood has a few important policies in place to help protect the space and ensure your day runs smoothly. These are all standard policies for venues to uphold.
Planner Required
You’ll need to hire a professional planner at least 30 days out from your event.
Licensed Caterer + Onsite Staff
Catering must be handled by a licensed company with staff onsite throughout your event for service and cleanup.
Tents, Lighting, and Rentals
Vendors for tents, lighting, or rentals must be licensed. Many couples rent a tent since the indoor space is limited and the rain plan works best with one. A tent can also elevate the overall feel of your reception.
Setup & Breakdown of Provided Rentals
You’ll need a licensed professional to set up and tear down Ravenswoods included tables and chairs.
Event Insurance
A standard event insurance policy is required. You’ll want this regardless of the venue you choose.
Licensed Bartenders for Alcohol
If you’re serving alcohol, it must be served by a licensed bartender per Tennessee law.

Guest Capacity
Ravenswood works well for both large outdoor weddings and smaller indoor gatherings.
Outdoor
- Maximum capacity with a tent: 300 guests
- Ceremonies typically happen on the lawn or the front porch (the front porch is my personal favorite)
- The patio can seat up to 250 guests.
Indoor
- Seated dinner: maximum 80 guests
- Standing reception: maximum 125 guests
- Indoor ceremonies: best for groups under 40
