While Nashville has so many unique gems for your wedding day venue, I don’t know if any of them come close to a Union Station wedding in Nashville. This train station-turned-hotel dates back to 1900 and offers a time capsule unlike any other. As a Nashville wedding photographer, I recently got the chance to work with a couple to capture the morning before their celebration. Here’s why I think you (yes, you!) should consider incorporating Union Station into your Nashville wedding.

Long before Nashville really earned its reputation as Music City, Union Station was serving as a bustling place for people looking for their ticket across the country. The station was a part of the L&N Railroad and saw hundreds of people each day passing through. The building was transformed into a luxury hotel in 1986, and many of the original historic accents were preserved. Whether you’re using this spot for your reception or just need a place to crash after your wedding day, this hotel has charm you’ll remember for the rest of your life!

When I got to work with Joe and Chloe on their wedding day, they used Union Station to get ready ahead of their Nashville wedding ceremony. The hotel rooms proved to be a picture-perfect spot for makeup, hair, and pre-wedding celebrations. Once the couple was done getting ready, we headed out to the interior balcony for a truly memorable first look!

Union Station loves working with couples on both their ceremonies and receptions. The Grand Lobby has earned a reputation as one of the “Best Hotel Lobbies in the world” by Conde Nast Traveler and offers enough space for up to 300 guests. As you celebrate, you can admire the 65-foot stained glass ceiling, crystal chandeliers, and bas-relief figures.
Another unique option is the South Wind and Hummingbird Rooms. These spaces are ideal for people who just can’t get enough color in their lives! With cerulean blue paneling and colorful stained glass, these areas are vibrant and luxurious in a way that’s totally Nashville. You will be able to host up to 200 guests in either space.
For those who want an outdoor space, the venue has a veranda overlooking the city with a permanent roof to keep away any bad weather. This space can hold up to 125 guests.

I can tell you from experience that Union Station Nashville is perfect for your wedding portraits! The day of Joe and Chloe’s wedding, we had so much fun exploring. The stairs were such a great way to show off Chloe’s dress, while the arched windows overlooking the grounds gave us plenty of sunlight to show off her completed look. We also used the balcony and the veranda for portraits of the couple.

Union Station Nashville has a dedicated events team that will be there as you get ready for your wedding day. They have a variety of packages that will include lodging, food, bartending services, and so much more. They can even include valet parking at a discount!

If you are looking for a historic space for your unique Nashville wedding, I just know you are going to love a Union Station wedding in Nashville. Now, you just need a photographer with experience working here. I can help with that, too! I am a Nashville wedding photographer, and I adore working with couples to document every second of their day.
