The Cheekwood wedding venue dates back nearly a century. The estate was built as a family home in 1929 before being converted into an art museum and botanic garden in 1960. Today, this space sees hundreds of thousands of visitors each and every year, making it a top destination for this beloved town.
Details of the Grounds
Cheekwood offers a number of spaces you can use throughout your wedding day! When you first arrive, you will be taken to a dressing room inside the estate where you can get ready alongside your wedding party. From there, it’s just a matter of which garden you will use for your vows. Smaller parties will love the Wisteria Arbor, a balcony setting that can hold up to 50 guests. Meanwhile, Wills Perennial Garden is the ideal spot for large weddings. With enough space for up to 250 guests, this lush space gives you some of the best views in the city! You can also choose The Reflecting Pool, Howe Garden, and the Japanese Garden.
Once your ceremony is over, your guests can enjoy some cocktails as you take your portraits across the outdoor spaces. For your reception, you can stay outside with either Swan Lawn or Frist Learning Center Lawn, or you can head inside and use the Massey Hall. While the outdoor spaces offer sophisticated courtyards, the interior space serves as a blank slate with floor-to-ceiling windows that will let your guests enjoy the views throughout your celebration. The venue is able to hold up to 350 guests, making it the ideal spot for weddings of all sizes.
