First, let’s start with how did I break into destination photography. My journey into photography began quite unexpectedly in 2021. My sister and her fiancé needed an engagement photographer, but no one was available. Although I had never picked up a camera, I used an old Sony, found some posing ideas on Pinterest, and gave it my best shot. When we reviewed the photos, my sister said, “Jaimee, these aren’t that bad??” That night, I created a photography email and Instagram account. I started offering free shoots, discovering my passion for capturing memories and making people smile. Soon, I began charging $50 per shoot, and before long, I was booking out and raised my prices to $100. I registered as an LLC, upgraded my gear, assisted at weddings, and eventually booked my own. Fast forward to today, and I’m a fully booked destination photographer!
